Most runners have goals.
A faster 10K. A first half marathon. A marathon PB. A trail race. Simply being able to run consistently again.

Personal running coaching on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Whether you’re chasing a PB, preparing for your first race or simply want to become a stronger, healthier runner, I’ll help you build an approach that works for you.
Start Here →The Philosophy
A faster 10K. A first half marathon. A marathon PB. A trail race. Simply being able to run consistently again.
They give our training purpose. But underneath them, most of us run for an even more fundamental reason:
We run because we
want to be healthier.
It clears our heads. It challenges us. And, done well, it can remain part of our lives for decades.
But it’s surprisingly easy for the pursuit of performance to start working against the reason we run in the first place.
Once health is the foundation,
performance can be built on top of it.
More Than a Training Plan
A running program can tell you
how far to run on Tuesday.Good coaching should understand
the person doing the running.
The right combination of volume, intensity and recovery for your goals.
Building a body capable of handling the demands of running.
Understanding how you move and what may be limiting you.
Making sure you’re adapting rather than simply accumulating fatigue.
Understanding what you’re putting on your feet - and why.
Sleep, nutrition, stress and life outside training all influence how you perform.
Footwear
Runners today have an extraordinary amount of choice.
Minimalist. Maximalist. Zero drop. High drop. Stability. Neutral. Super shoes. Carbon plates. New foams and technologies arriving seemingly every month.
Choice is a good thing. Knowing what actually makes sense for you is the difficult part.
After more than 25 years working with runners and footwear, I don’t believe there is one right shoe for everyone. Your body, movement, running history, strength, terrain and goals all matter.
I’m not here to sell you on a particular philosophy or the latest $350 super shoe. I’ll help you understand the options and make better decisions about what makes sense for your running.

25+ years working with runners,
biomechanics and footwear.
The shoe is a tool.
The runner is what we’re trying to develop.
Running has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. For more than 25 years, it’s also been my profession.
I’m a running coach and Certified Pedorthist, with a career spent helping people understand how their bodies move, how footwear affects that movement, and what allows them to keep doing the things they love.
I’ve also spent a fair amount of my own life finding out what the human body can do.
I’ve run under 30 minutes for 10K, raced as a professional triathlete, and covered hundreds of kilometres through deserts, mountains and the Arctic in expedition and adventure races.
Being fit and being healthy
aren’t always the same thing.
That lesson has shaped the way I coach.
I’ve worked with competitive athletes chasing performance, people returning from injury, and everyday runners who simply want to run consistently and feel good doing it.
Sometimes the answer is more running. Sometimes it’s strength, recovery, movement or footwear. And sometimes we just need to simplify things.
My job isn’t to make your training more complicated.
It’s to work out what matters most for you.
If you love running and want to keep getting better at it - while looking after the body that lets you do it - I’d love to work with you.
